Lucy Mertz

Lucy Mertz is a second year Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology major at UC Davis working towards applying to vet school. She is interested in working in both conservation and veterinary medicine. She has been a part of the lab since September 2024 and is excited to continue to learn about lab work. She is interested in being able to see how lab work applies to wildlife and ecosystems in the real world. Outside of the lab Lucy plays ultimate frisbee for UC Davis and played on the youth US national ultimate frisbee team. She is also an undergraduate veterinary volunteer in the Knights Landing One Health Clinic. In her free time she loves spending time outdoors hiking and camping!
