Lizzy Ashley, BS

Lizzy is a DVM/PhD student in the Graduate Group in Epidemiology. She is interested in the ecology and epidemiology of terrestrially derived pathogens in marine wildlife. She joined the Shapiro lab as a STAR student in 2022 to explore genotypic variation in Sarcocystis neurona infecting southern sea otters. Outside of the lab, Lizzy spends her time reading, running, and birding and tide-pooling around NorCal.
