Bio

Devinn received her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and did her residency in anatomic pathology with a focus on zoo/wildlife pathology at UC Davis and the San Diego Zoo. She completed her PhD in Integrative Pathobiology in the Shapiro Lab and is continuing on as a post-doctoral scholar. Her research focuses on the molecular characterization, epidemiology, and host-pathogen interactions of Sarcocystis neurona and Toxoplasma gondii infections in southern sea otters (Enhydra lutris nereis). When not in the lab, Devinn enjoys running, yoga, baking, and playing with her dog.
