Sierra Pestoni

Sierra Pestoni is a fourth-year Marine and Coastal Science major at UC Davis, emphasizing Marine Ecology and Organismal Biology, and is also pursuing a minor in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning. She is excited to expand her research skills and explore her interests in marine microbial ecology, particularly how environmental change influences interactions between marine organisms and their pathogens and how these interactions affect coastal ecosystem health. As an extension of her passions, Sierra advocates for ocean and coastal protection through her volunteer work with the Surfrider Foundation and has worked as a restoration intern with the Greater Farallones Association, contributing to efforts to protect and conserve coastal and marine ecosystems. In her free time, Sierra enjoys spending time outdoors, attending concerts, baking, and thrifting with friends.
