Neeta Prasanna

Neeta Prasanna is a second year student at UC Davis studying Molecular & Medical Microbiology with interests in epidemiology and medical research. She joined the Shapiro Lab in September 2026 and is excited to further explore the lab environment while learning about the connections between pollution, pathogens, and public health outcomes. She is passionate about public health and the role of the legal system in medicine and environmental change. Otherwise, Neeta serves as one of the TEDxUCD directors and the vice president of the League of Women Voters at UCD. In her free time, she likes reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
